It's a shame that Prey (2022) is only available for streaming, because it's a good movie that should be seen in a theater. It's so much fun to watch it with the Comanche dub. This is far from the unsettling feelings of the original work and John McTiernan's classic flourish, but director Dan Trachtenberg is eager to show off with a grab bag of modern visual ideas and solid action choreography, and it fits perfectly with the first film's survivalist attitude. It has a lot of moody images of wooded areas, and the music and sound design add to the feeling of being there. Naru, played by Amber Midthunder, is often the only character in the movie who says anything. Her facial expressions and quick moves set the pace and rhythms of the film, all the way up to a great (right here) showdown in the third act. So rough and nasty. It's great that the Predator is making a big comeback. Is Prey (2022) a bad movie?
